Special Assistant to Councilmember Eric Garcetti

As Special Assistant to Councilmember Eric Garcetti, Heleen works on a number of the office’s projects including assisting with scheduling his meetings and events, handling his correspondence, and managing the office’s database of contacts.

Prior to joining the Councilmember’s office, Heleen was Executive Assistant at a start-up production company where she was responsible for managing the office computer and data systems.

Heleen has lived in Los Angeles all her life and currently lives in the Glassell Park neighborhood. Her first-hand experience of the improvements made under Councilmember Garcetti’s leadership inspired her to get involved with helping her community by working in the Council District 13 office.

When not working in the City Hall office or attending classes at Pasadena City College, Heleen enjoys hiking on local trails, collecting records, playing guitar, and dancing.
